Over the past 6 months, companies have been forced to rapidly scale their remote working strategies. Many have realized that their existing systems weren’t designed for the quickly changing, increasingly mobile, modern workplace. Often times challenges such as mobile connectivity and performance have risen to the surface, impacting productivity in a big way.

One such solution, used by a number of organizations across the US, is Microsoft DirectAccess. DirectAccess, on top of having a number of frustrating downsides, is approaching the end of its useful lifetime. Organizations leveraging the solution currently are considering alternative solutions to provide seamless, transparent, always on remote connectivity for their field-based workers.

Microsoft is positioning Windows 10 Always On VPN as the replacement for DirectAccess. While it provides many new features that were missing from DirectAccess, it has its own unique limitations and shortcomings.

As the dust settles on the events of 2020, many are seeking out solutions that are purpose-built, to do things differently. For example, seeking out improved connectivity and mobile performance for workers experience in the “field” as well as the ability to diagnose and rectify issues when employees are outside the four walls of the office and beyond.

Join NetMotion and Richard Hicks, Founder and Principal, Richard M. Hicks Consulting, to discuss the future of secure remote access and what your business should consider when moving beyond legacy VPN solutions like DirectAccess.
