The term “cyber defense” often brings to mind Hollywood-esque visions of dimly lit rooms with glowing green Matrix terminals and giant monitors with world maps showing “live” cyber attacks with laser beams emanating from China. The truth is, most of these situation rooms are often just window dressing to make grepping through logs look more exciting to the uninitiated. In this talk, I discuss how visualizations and metrics can be either harmful or helpful, and how every dashboard should support the question, “What might I see up there that makes me do something down here?”

Attendees will:

•  Learn what questions to ask of a cyber visualization
•  Be able to understand perverse metrics in cyber security
•  Learn a little something about sailing navigation and nautical charts

Webinar Price: $0.00 per person
